Great Wolf Lodge Military Discount – Up to 25% Off!

This weekend I went up to Great Wolf Lodge with my Brother and his kids. Very fun place! With eighteen locations throughout the United States, Great Wolf Lodge is a favorite getaway for many families, and it’s easy to see why.

Although a fun, indoor water park getaway is needed sometimes, the costs can add up quickly, especially for larger families.

But did you know that Great Wolf Lodge offers military families a discount? Keep reading to learn more.

Howlin’ Heroes Discount – Save up to 25%

Military members (active, retired, and veterans) can receive up to 25% off a getaway at the Great Wolf Lodge any day of the year.

This discount is also available to firefighters, emergency medical personnel, medical providers, 911 dispatchers, police, and correctional officers.

The Howlin’ Heroes discount is based on four guests per room. The qualified person(s) must be present at check-in time and must have a valid ID for the promotion to apply.

There are a limited number of rooms available for the discounted offer, and you may be required to stay a specified number of nights (at a minimum) to receive the discount.

The Howlin’ Heroes discount:

  • Cannot be combined with any other discounts or promotional offers
  • Is not valid during special holidays or during blackout periods. Blackout dates may vary; and
  • Is exclusively for Great Wolf Lodge and cannot be redeemed for cash
  • Can be used for up to two rooms per government ID

Using the Great Wolf Lodge Military Discount

Using the discount is easy. All you have to do is head over to the Great Wolf Lodge website and choose the location you wish to visit.

From there, you will be asked how many nights you will be staying and how many guests will be accompanying you — how many kids and how many adults.

To apply the discount, simply type in the word “HEROES”  in the promotion box.

If you are unable to make reservations online, you can contact Great Wolf Lodge’s team at 866.926.9653. The cost of a room is around $160-$250 depending on how early you book and how many people you have with you. They offer Military Discounts at all of their locations. You can book online by clicking here or using the promo code “HEROES” or you can ask for the military discount at the front desk.

While there, I talked with one of the front desk workers who also told me a little trick. When you try and use the military discount online they will often blackout weekends or popular days. She said however that you can go ahead and still book a room at the normal price online and then when you get to the lodge you can show your military ID at the check-in and they will still give you the discount. This allows military members and families to enjoy the discount every day of the year. You might often be able to find a better deal on Expedia and then apply the military discount when you arrive. For example, a $189 dollar room goes down to $151 with the military discount applied. (This example shows a 20% discount, which was the offer several years ago.) Offers may change, so be sure to visit the Great Wolf Lodge website for the most current offer. All rooms come with FREE water park passes for everyone. There are also a lot of other fun activities. My brother’s kids spend most of their time doing magic quest adventures that they have at the locations.

Things to Consider Before Booking Your Military Discount Stay at Great Wolf Lodge

When booking your stay at Great Wolf Lodge, you will have the option of staying in

  • Standard
  • Themed; or
  • Premium rooms.

The themed rooms come with outdoor-kid-themed bedrooms, while the premium suites offer additional features like a sleeper couch, a loft-style bedroom, fireplaces, and a balcony.

Some locations may even have amenities like fitness centers and spas for children and adults. Every location has unique restaurant options and coffee shops.
