Once you’ve signed up, you can head to Avis, select your destination and rental dates and enter the provided discount code – at the time of this publication, the discount code is T765700.
The appropriate discount will be reflected on the following page when you choose your rental.
It is important to note some stipulations to the Avis military discount, like…
- Some vehicles are not eligible for the military discount
- Blackout dates may apply, and
- Some Avis locations may not participate in the military discounts
… and more. We always recommend calling the specific pick up location you will be renting from before making any reservations.
Avis may ask you to prove your military status at the pickup location. The company accepts a valid military ID as proof of service. Avis requests purchase orders and government-issued Visa cards as proof of official travel if traveling on military orders.
How Does Avis’ Military Discount Compare to Similar Discounts?
Compared to other rental companies, Avis does offer a reasonably high discount – when applicable. Unfortunately, we have no set discount amount offered by Avis.
Military members traveling on official orders will also receive free unlimited mileage, free collision, and LDQ insurance at no additional charge with proof of travel orders.
“Underage” drivers – those under the age of 25 – will not be charged an underage driver surcharge with proof of military orders.
Enterprise, for example, provides a 5% off discount to all qualifying members on leisure travel and a set fee – agreed upon with the government – for official travel. Enterprises also offers a variable military discount for personal use. These discounts are available to current military members and veterans.
Hertz offers military discounts as well, also at a variable rate.
